The Nike Air Jordan 8 Retro DB 'Doernbecher' was released as part of the Nike x Doernbecher 2014 Freestyle Collection. Designed by Caden Lampert who battles with a life-threatening autoimmune disease known as Guillain-Barré syndrome, the vibrant sneaker features a Hyper Blue speckled upper with Electro Orange, Tour Yellow, and black accents. Released in November 2014 at the Portland Art Museum, the sneaker also includes a raft of personal details. A keen basketball player, Caden's jersey #14 hits up the cross-strap, and a cobra graphic accents the right tongue. Also included are a glow-in-the-dark fingerprint and the inspirational phrases 'Hang Loose,' Rock On,' and 'Brave!'
